Our Mission

Building Affordable and Sustainable Housing Solutions

Anu Community Development is committed to creating a positive impact by constructing healthy energy homes for veterans, seniors, and low-income families. We strive to make homeownership affordable and accessible to those in need.

The Affordable Housing Initiative aims to provide veterans and low-income families with affordable, sustainable, and healthy homes. This project will construct energy-efficient homes using green building techniques and sustainable materials to reduce living costs and environmental impact. We seek funding to support the development of 200 homes over the next three years, ensuring these families have access to safe, affordable, and healthy housing.

Why Energy Efficiency Matters

  • Environmental Impact: Reducing energy consumption lowers greenhouse gas emissions and minimizes your carbon footprint, contributing to a healthier planet.
  • Cost Savings: Energy-efficient homes typically have lower utility bills, saving you money over time.
  • Comfort: Improved insulation, ventilation, and lighting contribute to a more comfortable living environment year-round.

Key Elements of an Energy-Efficient Home

Insulation: Proper insulation reduces heat transfer, keeping your home cooler in summer and warmer in winter without relying heavily on heating or cooling systems.

Energy-Efficient Windows: Installing windows with low-emissivity coatings and double or triple glazing reduces heat loss and minimizes air leakage.

High-Efficiency HVAC Systems: Upgrading to energy-efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems reduces energy consumption and enhances indoor air quality.

Smart Thermostats: These devices optimize heating and cooling schedules based on your preferences, saving energy when you're away or asleep.

LED Lighting: LED bulbs use significantly less energy and last longer than traditional incandescent bulbs, providing both energy and cost savings.

Energy-Efficient Appliances: Choose appliances with ENERGY STAR ratings, indicating superior energy efficiency compared to standard models.

Solar Panels: Generating electricity from solar energy reduces reliance on the grid and can even allow you to sell excess power back to the utility company.

Water Conservation: Install low-flow fixtures, such as faucets and showerheads, and consider harvesting rainwater for irrigation to reduce water consumption.
